Your photo shoot isn't just about the end result of getting a picture in the yearbook or wall art on the mantle. It is about YOU... immersing, enjoying and experiencing the present moment as an "anticipated memory" that will be captured and last forever.

How
To customize your shoot, we start with a pre shoot consultation and questionnaire . We bounce ideas back and forth about themes, locations and poses via a private Pinterest board that can be shared with your family or friends to get their input (if so desired). We also encourage clients to explore our other Pinterest pages for ideas that we can emulate or interpret into a new concept altogether. For some clients, this creative journey is equally as enjoyable as the photo shoot itself.
Our photo shoots take on the vibe of a commercial photo shoot compared to a traditional portrait session with stiff forced poses. Don't get us wrong, there are plenty of posed moments. However, we try to create a relaxed "hanging out" atmosphere that encourages more candid looking images, reflecting your natural flow of movement. It is actually during these times, in between poses, that most of the best shots come to life. We will risk taking too many shots in order to get the one that is most realistically you.
WHERE
We prefer that you choose a location you are familiar with. One where you connect and feel most comfortable. This can be your favorite park, beach, hiking trail, coffee shop or even your backyard. However, if you are stumped and need some help, we can certainly make some suggestions based on our pre shoot consultation. We will travel up to a 45 mile radius from Portland.

You are unique. We can offer some guidelines, but be yourself in how you dress.
Make sure you’re comfortable in your clothing and that it flatters you. This will ensure that you like how you look when viewing your photos. If you’re self-conscious about your arms, avoid sleeveless or cap-sleeve shirts and tank tops, as they tend to make arms look fuller. Avoid stripes and plaid. Solid colors photograph much better than busy patterns.
If you’re comfortable in dresses, bring them! They photograph really well and offer a nice variety from your other casual clothing choices. Don’t be afraid to accessorize. Bracelets, bold necklaces, watches, belts, hats, scarves, sunglasses, and shoes. All of these combine well to create a more stylized image. Not sure what to bring? Pack it all, and we will go through it together.
If you are doing your own makeup, we recommend using slightly heavier then normal. Mascara should be clean and not clumpy. Avoid makeup with an SPF because it tends to create a shine. Summer shine can be controlled by using translucent powder that knocks out shine without adding additional color.

The best time of day to shoot is in the evening. The last 2-3 hours before sunset. During the week or weekends. Whatever best fits your schedule.

• Photo shoot lasts approximately 2-3 hours
• Initial image processing after the photo shoot takes about 2-3 days
• For quicker previewing, you will first receive low res proof images from the shoot (approximately 300-600 images). We remove bad images but leave more than most photographers, as your best choices will be different than ours and we don’t want you to miss out
• You pick the final image for the yearbook (plus 4 more - 5 total) and we will give them our premiere professional editing service
• Final image processing then takes about 3-5 more days for your final 5 pictures
• We will send you the top 5 plus ALL the other files in high resolution format with no watermarks, no restrictions, no hidden fees
• The method of delivery is online via DropBox
• No need for pre-payment or deposits, however, payment is expected at time of the shoot (cash or check is preferred)
